Oracle introduces mobile features for healthcare inventory management

Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) has announced new mobile enhancements to its Oracle Fusion Cloud Inventory Management system, part of Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM), aimed at helping healthcare organizations improve their inventory management and patient care. The update was unveiled today, with a focus on reducing inventory errors, simplifying restocking processes, and providing better visibility for demand forecasting and stock availability.

Chris Leone, executive vice president of applications development at Oracle, emphasized that the new features are designed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of inventory management in healthcare settings. The improvements are expected to lead to timely access to necessary supplies, cost savings, and improved capabilities in procurement, replenishment planning, and recall management.

The enhanced inventory management functions address all core inventory transactions within healthcare organizations, supporting full mobile device and barcode scanning use across various hospital stocking locations. Key features of the mobile enhancements include:

  • A PAR Management Workbench for real-time inventory level tracking and demand prediction.
  • A Mobile PAR Counting App with an offline mode that allows for efficient PAR management from any location.
  • A Last-Mile Logistics App to enhance logistics management efficiency and record proof of delivery.

These updates are part of Oracle’s broader commitment to aiding healthcare organizations by automating processes, increasing supply chain visibility, introducing bulk-maintenance capabilities, implementing product lifecycle management, and managing channel revenue.

Oracle’s Cloud SCM is an integral component of the Oracle Fusion Applications Suite, designed to connect supply chain processes seamlessly and adapt swiftly to shifts in demand, supply, and market conditions.
